It was a time for
celebration for those endorsing Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2016
presidential election.
The former Secretary of State
became the first female presumptive presidential nominee on Tuesday.
While Clinton still has a few months of campaigning before going head to
head with Republican nominee Donald Trump
in November, her famous supporters -- many whom met up with her on the
campaign trail -- are overjoyed about this historic moment in time.
From Lady Gaga to Katy
Perry, here are some of their reactions:
Lady Gaga: "#HILLARY2016 Nothing can keep a strong woman down."
Katy Perry:
"A lot of little girls are in bed right now dreaming for the first
time, without limits. You broke the mold @HillaryClinton."
John Legend: "Congratulations to @HillaryClinton on her historic win!"
Lindsay Lohan: "@hillaryclinton #historytonightforallwomen #hilary2016 #lindsaylohan #goalNo8 #next"
Josh Gad: "Regardless
of where you stand politically, tonight is a very special night for
women in this country. 240 years later, it's about time."
Elizabeth Banks:
"Very emotional about @HillaryClinton securing nomination - historic
moment for American Women. #HistoryMade #ImWithHer #mostqualified."
Jaime King: "CONGRATS
DEAR @hillaryclinton THANK YOU for letting me & all women be with
you & dream BIG! #imwithher #historymade"
Billy Eichner: "I'm ok with a female President AS LONG as she doesn't start busting ghosts."
Mia Farrow: "'Bridges are better than walls' - HR Clinton"
Josh Lucas:
"@ikebarinholtz pointed out to me that our 3 year olds will know a
black man and a woman as their first presidents @HillaryClinton
#ImWithHer."
Debra Messing: "The ceiling is shattered. Thank you @HillaryClinton."
George Clooney is also a big supporter of Hillary for president, and when talking to ET,
the presidential hopeful admitted that meeting the 55-year-old actor
did make her a little star struck.
"I mean, obviously I'm a
huge fan of George's, and I hadn't yet met [his wife] Amal, but I knew
people who knew her because she is a human rights lawyer, which I am
enthusiastically impressed by," Hillary told ET's Kevin Frazier. "So the
idea that they were going to do this, and then we got to spend some
personal time together? That was pretty starstruck-y time ... It was
great, it was just terrific."
