So
it's no surprise that GOP donors in the US wanted to bankroll a Justin
Bieber concert to the tune of $5 million while the Republican National
Convention took
place just minutes away, according to TMZ.
But
after some deliberation, the Sorry singer, 22, declined after his
manager Scooter Braun allegedly threatened to quit and NBA superstar
LeBron James urged him to steer clear.

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Justin and is awaiting comment.
According
to the celebrity gossip publication, a source close to CAA - the agency
that represents Justin - said the hitmaker was asked to perform 45
minutes away from Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena - the setting of the
RNC.
While
assurances were allegedly made that the performance would be
non-political, Justin's manager Scooter Braun is a known supporter of
Trump's presidential rival Hillary Clinton, having even hosted a
fundraiser for the Democrat candidate at his home in Los Angeles.
It
was reported that Braun mentioned to Justin that he should discuss
erecting Black Lives Matter signs at the show, but the donors rejected
the idea, suggesting All Lives Matter signs instead.

It
has been claimed that NBA star James' attendance in Cleveland was used
to persuade Justin, but when the pop star's team reached out to the
sportsman's it was revealed he wasn't going.
In
fact, LeBron apparently tried to persuade Justin from doing the gig,
which would've provided his highest one off payment to date.
Meanwhile,
Justin's success shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon, after he
was nominated for the Video Of The Year gong MTV Video Music Award,
alongside Kanye West, Drake, Beyonce and Adele.
Justin's
Sorry (which the pop star does not actually appear in) is also
nominated for Best Pop Video, and he also received a Best Breakthrough
Long Form Video nod for PURPOSE: The Movement.
And the star could soon be making the leap to the big screen.
He
is believed to be eyeing a potential screen project, but he is
reportedly holding out until a scene featuring his character having sex
with another man is written out.
Writer Pete O'Neill told the New York Post's Richard
Johnson that the singer has been offered the role of a pop star in Uber
Girl, but won't sign on until it undergoes a 'major rewrite'.
He
won’t take the part unless the sex scene with him and one of the male
backup dancers is taken out of the final script,' O'Neill, who is
co-writer on the coming-of-age project, told the publication.
